Production pipeline-part 1

This is the text from my blog for my Production Pipeline class. I originally had these posts on my portfolio website but that site went down a week ago. So here is everything that I did for that project in a few posts.

Flash site example
I have setup most the front page in flash and created the animations and movements for most items. Still have a few more things to add but this is the general look and feel of the user interface.

Sketches
The look and feel for the website will be photographic and have bamboo framing the content area. The navigation buttons will be at the top of the page. When you mouse over one it starts to sway. There will be shadows of palm trees swaying in the background. The background itself will be brown in color fading into black. There will be two torches, one on either side of the frame, with an animated flame that is flickering. The main items on the main page will begin by being slightly hidden from view off the edge of the frame. When the user mouses over the item it will slide out into view and slide out a description of the object. It will then slide back out of view when you mouse out. I chose to do this to keep the screen from getting cluttered and also to create a sense of intractive exploration and discovery. The user can explore the site by clicking on different objects and seeing what they do.

Final proposal

I finished the final proposal which is very close in structure to what I posted last week. Here is a link to my production pipeline proposal in pdf format. It also includes a timeline for the project as well as a flowchart for the site.

Pipeline proposal

My idea for the Production Pipeline project is to create an interactive website that shows what goes on at a Hawaiian Lu’au.
———————————-
Problem statement: Provide a Hawaiian lu’au experience for people interested in Hawaiian food or culture.

Target audience: individuals or families with kids both male and female. The only computer experience or knowledge that will be needed is experience browsing the web.

Targeted software and hardware: Flash player, web browsers

Methodology: I will build it using flash, photoshop and illustrator.
